Cozy Christmas Home Tour

vintage industrial metal cabinet with little drawers decorated for Christmas

Welcome to our cozy Christmas home! Today I’m giving you a tour of our
entry, master bedroom, and basement entry where you’ll notice a definite
trend. Baskets, throw blankets, and plaid, oh my! And red
accents. I guess I never realized how much I have of these until they
started showing up in all of my pictures.

Today’s tour is part of the Very Merry Christmas Home Tour hosted by my
friend
Carrie at Lovely Etc.  There are 17 home tours and you’ll want to visit them all for some
very merry Christmas decorating ideas. All of the links to the tours are at
the bottom of the post.

Christmas Entry Decor

small white desk and wooden mirror with Christmas decorations

Our entry only has one space that I can decorate because there are so many
openings plus a closet. This little area is quick and easy to decorate and I
kept it pretty simple this year. The white desk  is nice and neutral and my Christmas colors really pop next to it.

A simple
rustic tabletop tree
is a fun addition to the top of the desk. I’ve had this one for years and it’s
been everywhere throughout the house over the years.

TIP: Here’s an easy and budget-friendly way to decorate an area for
Christmas. Wrap boxes in plain
brown kraft paper
and tie them with
pretty satin ribbon. Super simple and quick. For more gift wrapping ideas go here →

Underneath the desk, I added a pom pom sherpa throw blanket to my big woven basket for some texture, along with a couple more packages.

Christmas in the Master Bedroom

The baskets, throw blankets, and plaid theme continues in the master bedroom.
My most favorite ruched faux fur throw blanket keeps me warm and cozy on cold nights. The blue vintage Ralph Lauren duvet cover was a lucky thrift store find a few months ago. The red “merry” pillow  makes the flowers on the duvet cover really pop.

I added a couple of  boxwood wreaths with red ribbons to wooden arches on either side of the bed for more of
a Christmas look.

Underneath one of the night stands, I have a vintage plaid wool lap blanket in a large basket. It’s a fun and easy way to add more texture and
color.

And on the top of the nightstand, a couple of
vintage red books, a
little feather Christmas tree, and a
wood bead garland
set the scene. I’ve had this little tree for probably 20 years and love it
more every year. Here are some more of my favorite ways to decorate with trees

On the other night stand I have another tabletop tree in an antique stoneware crock . The little green stoneware Christmas tree and

are both from my shop.

Vintage Metal Cabinet

My favorite place to decorate for each season is on and around my vintage
metal cabinet with all the little drawers. This piece is one of my all-time
favorite estate sale finds. See my estate sale shopping tips here →

  3. I just love what you have done. In my opinion one can never have enough plaid in their home! And I adore what you did in the master bedroom. I am crushing on everyones decorated bedrooms this year, I need to do mine next year.

    1. Thank you, Wendy! I agree…never enough plaid 😉. And I don't always decorate the master bedroom for Christmas but because it's 2020, I wanted a little Christmas cheer in all the spaces.

  4. It is beautiful – from top to bottom. I love the idea to wrap presents for decor – just need to figure out how to keep my kids away from them.

    1. Thank you! If my kids were small I wouldn't be able to the wrapped (empty) boxes either. They're grown and gone now so the only ones I have to worry about are our kittens, and they're very mischievous!

  5. Love all of your little trees and baskets and Christmas touches! And that metal cabinet is amazing – it seems to look gorgeous with pretty much everything!

    1. Thanks, Carrie! I've had so much fun with that cabinet. I bought it because I loved it but had no idea where I would put it. After sitting in the garage for months, it's right at home in this little spot.

  6. Everything looks so lovely Angie! All of the cozy textures and beautiful holiday patterns really come together to create such a cozy feel!

    1. Thank you! Making the house cozy, especially at Christmas, is always a big goal for me.

  7. It is fun to see all of your vintage touches throughout your Christmas decorating. I like that you have your bedroom decorated, too. Seeing your feather tree reminds me of visiting my grandma's house during the Holidays. Thanks for all the ideas and inspiration, Angie. Merry Christmas.

  8. You have such a beautiful home filled with so many special things Angie. I especially love that wall rack with wire hooks and OMW that metal cabinet is a keeper for sure.

  9. Hi Angie

Hope you have a Wonderful Christmas. Thank You so much
