Add flour, 1/2 cup brown sugar, butter, 1 tsp. cinnamon, and salt to a medium bowl. You can also all 1/2 tsp. of nutmeg or ground cloves if desired. Blend together with a pastry cutter until crumbly.
Gently stir oats into the mixture. If you're using pecans add them with the oats.
Sprinkle the topping over the peaches. Press lightly.
Bake for about 20 minutes or until the topping is crisp and slightly browned.
Allow to cool slightly.
Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
If you prefer to make one larger dish instead of individual ones, you can use an 8" square baker and increase the baking time by about 5 minutes.
