Fall Home Tour and Decorating Ideas
Hey friends! It’s that special time of year when we welcome cooler weather and all things fall. And at home, the decor gets a little makeover that makes everything so cozy and warm.
Today I’m joining with some of my home decorating blogger friends and we’re sharing areas of our homes that we’ve spruced up for fall. There are eleven of us and our tour is hosted by my super talented friend Cindy at County Road 407. Be sure to stop by her tour if you haven’t already.

If you’re hopping over from Coco at The Crowned Goat, welcome! Her home is so beautiful and I always love seeing her latest ideas. All of the tour links are at the bottom of the page and you’ll want to visit everyone for some inspiring fall ideas.
As you tour our home you’ll see mostly items that I’ve had for years. I like to use things in a new way each year so I don’t have to buy anything new.
Fall Entry Decor Ideas
Our entry is tiny and is easy to decorate. I usually just change out the top and underside of the desk and it doesn’t take very long. The decor in here for fall is super simple with some dried hydrangeas, vintage amber bottles, and a few favorite accessories. Nothing is new here. I’ve just used things that I already had in a new way.

The vintage amber bottles are the perfect fall accent and my little articulated wooden man agrees. He’s so happy to see them, lol.

And it took about 10 seconds to add these dried hydrangeas to my vintage fishing creel. I love the soft blues, don’t you? (See my unbelievably easy method for drying hydrangeas here: How to Dry Hydrangeas)

Dining Room Fall Decor
We don’t have a formal dining room in our home. This space that’s at the end of our kitchen is where we gather for meals and I’ve added a few fall touches in here.

My pottery bowls are mostly browns and blues and were the perfect addition for fall. I layered them on top of some block print napkins to accentuate the blues.

I’ve been accumulating the bowls over the past few years at the annual “Souper Bowl” fundraiser. They’re all handmade at our local art center and are one-of-a-kind pieces. I truly love things like that. Plus they’re perfect for fall soups.

Over on our antique buffet, I added my vintage blue and white chinoiserie lamp. I recently added the scalloped seagrass lamp shade which gave it a brand new look. The vintage artwork is something I got at the thrift store years ago, and the soup tureen was also a thrift store find.

Last week I gave our rolling kitchen cart a facelift with a new coat of paint. I had a 8 oz sample jar of Van Deusen Blue and used about half of it. I had painted it red several years ago and it was past time for a makeover. It took me about an hour to paint the whole thing and it looks so much nicer.

The wooden pumpkin shaped board is from my shop, and that pretty basket on the bottom shelf was a recent thrift store find. I filled it with faux pumpkins. The leaf plate and blue and white teacups were also thrift store finds.

Fall in the Family Room
I really didn’t do a lot of fall fluffing in the family room. The older I get, the less seasonal decorating I do because taking it down is something that I don’t enjoy. And it doesn’t take much for this room to look cluttered so I’ve been going with a “less is more” approach in here.

I’m loving this new swivel chair (from Walmart!!) that I got a couple of weeks ago to replace the not-so-pretty lift recliner that we had in here for my husband. He ended up not using it very much so he was okay to let it go. The swivel chair is so comfy, and I added a pretty block print pillow and cozy chenille throw blanket to it for fall.

Over on my updated filing cabinet, I added a few little fall colored items and an adjustable lamp with a cute scalloped lamp shade.

The brown vintage glass bottles are perfect for fall. I placed them on a round wooden tray from my online shop and added a strand of wood beads for a little finishing touch.

And on the other side I added some dried hydrangeas to a vintage copper teapot along with some fall colored vintage books.

You reminded me I need to go get out my amber bottles; love seeing the sunshine through them in the Fall! Your pretty blue pottery bowls are lovely; great texture. They set such a pretty table. Fun to see your home decorated for Fall; thanks for the tour!
Your table is so inviting, and I love the pottery with your mix of blues and browns. Everything is so beautifully styled with something unique to admire in every photo. And the “new” coffee cart is just adorable in the Van Deusen Blue. What a fabulous color! Happy Fall Angie!
Your pottery bowls are amazing!!! LOVE the hydrangeas and your tablesettings are so beautiful in the blues. But what really grabbed me was your wonderful cupboard and all that gorgeous white ironstone. Oh those pitchers… I’m in love!!!
Angie, I love the muted browns, blues, oranges and other soft colors you’ve chosen for your fall rooms! And I especially love the large basket filled with faux pumpkins. I think I might borrow your idea and do that on the lower shelf of my tea cart. Really pretty looks for fall!
Enjoy the season,
Barb 🙂
