2025 Paint Color of the Year from Major Paint Brands

Today we’re looking at all of the 2025 color of the year picks from major paint brands. These are the colors that you’ll be seeing featured by designers and brands for items ranging from paint to fashion to beauty. We’ll be exploring the palette and seeing the colors in real room settings so you can get an idea how they really look.

The theme for 2025 is all about creating a home that provides comfort, peace, and security. The colors are mostly warm muted earthy hues and are reminiscent of both the 80’s and Victorian times. Mochas, browns, beiges, plums, and a few cooler hues make up the collection of color picks from the brands. Here’s a look at the entire group:

2025 Benjamin Moore Color of the Year and Palette

Benjamin Moore has chosen Cinnamon Slate 2113-40, an earthy muted plum color, for their 2025 color of the year. It can be used with mid tone muted earthy hues, soft warm beiges and warm wood tones. Use it in dining rooms, living rooms, bedrooms, or bathrooms.

The Benjamin Moore 2025 color trends palette is a collection of soft, muted, warm and inviting colors that create a sense of calm and coziness.

2025 Sherwin Williams Color Capsule

For the first time ever, Sherwin Williams has chosen a color capsule instead of one color of the year for 2025. The colors selected are able to be used together in any combination. They’re a mix of classic and trending colors that exude comfort, security, and harmony.

My personal favorite from the color capsule palette is Rain Cloud SW 9639. It’s categorized as a neutral and can be used with so many other colors. The bedroom below looks so classic but also on trend.

HGTV Home 2025 Color Collection of the Year Quietude

NOTE – This is not the same palette as the 2025 Colormix Forecast, which is from the flagship line of Sherwin Williams paint. The HGTV line is found at Lowes. You CAN get these colors at either locations, but the product names are different. It’s a branding thing.

Let’s take a look at the Naturally Refined color collection from the Sherwin Williams HGTV Home line that’s available from Lowe’s. This palette is made up of 10 timeless yet trending colors including some soothing and some saturated hues.

The palette is warm and cozy and has a very positive energy to it, don’t you think? All of the colors would work together, as shown in the images below.

2025 Sherwin Williams HGTV Home Color of the Year

The color of the year from Sherwin Williams HGTV Home brand is….Quietude! It’s ideal for a bedroom, laundry room, living room, or an room that you want to add a soft, subtle color to.

A soft sage with a whisper of blue influence, Quietude is an emerging color for enduring design and soothes any space inside or out.

2025 Behr Color of the Year and Palette

Behr has revealed their color of the year and palette that’s full of 16 versatile shades ranging from soft warm neutrals to deep vibrant hues. There’s a near-white and an almost black and some lovely shades in between.

Overall, the collection is very warm and cozy, similar to the HGTV Home palette. I’m beginning to see a distinct trend here.

Behr 2025 Color of the Year Rumors

I heard a rumor that dark paint colors are popular once again. And Behr’s 2025 Color of the Year, Rumor, proves that it’s true! It’s a total throwback to the 90’s jewel tones and is absolutely gorgeous, in my opinion.

This rich hue would be perfect in a dining room, study, office, or half bathroom. And I could absolutely see it in a kitchen, either on walls, cabinets, or an island.

PPG 2025 Color of the Year Purple Basil

Positioned between a mid and dark tone, Purple Basil is deeply shaded, yet muted. Multidimensional with depth and layers, Purple Basil has a touch of warmth from the red pigments in its composition. Valspar 2025 Color of the Year Encore

Here we go again with the deep rich tones. The 2025 Color of the Year from Valspar is bold, saturated, and stunning. It’s a cobalt blue that’s very similar to the Benjamin Moore 2024 color of the year and can be paired with natural wood tones, lighter blues, greens, oranges, and yellows.

Here’s yet another warm and cozy color palette for 2025. Dutch Boy has chosen these 10 lovely colors that will work in any space and can be used together.

Dutch Boy 2025 Color of the Year Mapped Blue

It seems that blues and blue-greens are very much on trend for 2025. Dutch Boy has selected Mapped Blue as their 2025 color of the year.
