2017 Most Popular Posts

My top 10 posts published in 2017

How can it be that another year has come and gone? It’s kinda scary how fast time flies these days.
Quite a few projects were completed here this year and today I’m sharing a round up of the most popular posts of the year, based on pageviews, shares, and comments.

There are a couple of surprises on the list so be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of the page where the #1 post is revealed. Maybe I need to branch out a little more in that direction!

Here we go!

10. Blush and Bashful Accents in the Living Room

I never thought I’d want pink in our living room but I love the way it warms ups and softens the space! See the whole room  HERE.

9. Cozy Christmas Front Porch

Our front porch is one of my favorite areas to decorate, especially during the holidays. You can see it all HERE

8. Dreaming of Snow – Our Christmas Home Tour

Back in August, I painted our giant brick fireplace and it has made such a big difference in the feel of the living room. Our Christmas mantel decor looked perfect against the newly painted brick. You can see all the details  HERE.

7. Low Budget Laundry Room Makeover

Our teeny tiny laundry room is smaller than many people’s closets. But it’s now super efficient and stylish thanks to a low budget makeover it got earlier this year. You can see the entire space and how it looked before HERE.

6. Modern Farmhouse Guest Bedroom Makeover

Another small space, our guest bedroom had become dark and depressing. It was refreshed with a new look in the fall and you can see it HERE.

5. Ideas for Decorating with Blue & White

Love blue and white decor? So do I. And I shared lots of ways you can incorporate it into your decor HERE.

4. Eclipse Party Ideas

We were fortunate to be directly in the path of totality for the 2017 eclipse and had a viewing party with many of our friends. Did you get to see it? It was so incredible! See my eclipse party ideas HERE.

3. Fall Mantel with Plaids & Metals

Our fall mantel was chock full of vintage items, metal, and plaid…some of my very favorite things. See all of the details HERE.

2. Add some WOW to your Walls with Joanna Gaines’ New Wallpaper

Wallpaper is making a huge comeback and Joanna Gaines introduced a new collection with her signature style this year. You can see my favorites from the collection HERE

1. Fresh Georgia Peach Ice Cream

Who knew that everyone else loved peach ice cream as much as I do?? I shared a delicious recipe in the summer and it was my most popular post of the year! Look for more recipes on the blog in 2018. And you can get the ice cream recipe HERE

Any surprises here for you? I was surprised by the recipe and the eclipse party ideas posts being so popular.

Leave me a comment and let me know which one was your favorite!

Coming Up!

Here are a couple of projects to watch for here on the blog in 2018:

  • Basement refresh

I started this project in 2017 but need to finish a few lingering projects. Look forward to the reveal soon that includes a new paint color and furniture arrangement. Hopefully some wall shelves will also be included in the project, but I’m still working on that part.

  • Bookcase Makeover

I’ve already starting planning a facelift for our 12′ wide built-in family room bookcases. I painted them 7 or 8 years ago with a dark bronze color and want to lighten them and give them a fresh look. This project will make a huge difference in our family room.

  • Office/Craft Room Refresh

My basement office/craft room has been neglected and has become more of a storage room than office. With the launch of my online shop, Emory Valley Mercantile, a dedicated office and shipping area is needed. The office will be getting a refresh with a new paint color and some much needed organization. I’m really excited about this project and hope to finish it by early spring at the latest.

Do you have lots of goals and plans for the new year? Let me know what you hope to accomplish.

Happy 2018! May it be your best year yet!
